Today I Read…Llama Llama Mad At Mama

Today I read Llama Llama Mad At Mama by Anna Dewdney. Llama Llama Mad at Mama

Llama Llama just wants to play with his toys, but Mama is making him go shopping. Shopping is no fun! Llama Llama is mad at Mama!

******************************************

This is a cute children’s book, and the rhymes are fun. Llama Llama makes great faces in the artwork that you can encourage kids to duplicate when reading to them. It does feature the main character having a temper tantrum and making a mess, but in the end Mama convinces Llama Llama to help her shop and they make the trip more fun together. They also clean up the mess that Llama Llama made together, so if you’re the type who thinks all kids’ books should have a moral it pretty much balances out. Shopping will also be a familiar activity for young children, so they can relate to Llama Llama and his boredom. This book is part of a series, but it is a stand-alone story.
